This place could be okay. Unfortunately, there are way too many daily problems that make living here not worth it. For instance, our bathroom sink clogged immediately after moving in. Then a pipe burst under the kitchen sink causing a lot of dirty disposal water to spill oit on the faux wooden floor. The dishwasher also leaks. Right now our toilet is clogged, as well as our shower. The downstairs washing machines are usually broken, too (the laundry room needs a bit of cleaning, by the way). The plumbing at this place is absolutely terrible. That's a massive inconvenience. To make things worse, switching between air conditioning and heating is out of the tennant's control. That's up to the staff/maintenance at the main office. In the summer the a/c is turned on, then in the winter they switch it to heating. Maintenance decides which is on at what time. Unlike any other apartment with a good temperature control system, you cannot switch between the two. The only thing is you can turn it off. This is really annoying during Denver's warm winters when it's on average 50 - 70 degrees, with maybe a day or two of cold temps. To deal with that you can open the balcony door... and listen to the beautiful sounds of the busy highway full of sirens, trucks, and loud cars (among others) as this place is literally feet from the interstate. I personally have to use a noisy fan at night so I don't melt in my sleep. Also, another thing: the neighbors can't seem to live without their weed. Yes, it is Denver, and thankfully that stuff is legal in the state, but to smell excessive amounts of that stuff seemingly 24/7 is quite annoying. At least the walls are thick, which also means it's hard to hear the neighbors, but those walls are difficult to hammer into so hanging things like framed pictures is difficult. In the studio apartments theres no light in the main area so bring your own unless you were born with night-vision eyes. Dogs and cats are allowed here which is neat because dogs and cats are fun and sometimes you get to pet them. Just watch your step outside because some people are too lazy to use one of the many dog-waste bags that are offered to clean up after their critters. The place does offer recycling but they need to do a better job at emptying the dumpster because it fills up fast. The hallways could be cleaned more often, preferably during the afternoon as opposed to the early mornings that they clean them with the loud vacuums and such. The parking is okay. Just make sure you have a sticker and it's not a huge issue. There are no bugs (or at least barely any - I haven't seen one) inside which is nice because at some fancier place the creepy crawlies can get in. The location is nice (minus the highway) and feels safe. The murder you read about wasn't random so there's no need to worry about thugs and such - the place is in the college district (across the street from a college) so there's a lot of younger folks occupying the rooms. Hmm... What else? Not much. Oh, there is a pool and outdoor area with a grilland tables, so that's neat if that's your thing. I guess it could be worse, but the plumbing and temperature thing are rather frustrating and become a huge inconvenience that pretty much ruin living here. In all fairness, you can survive easily here, but it could be a lot easier if they'd fix these things. Also, they're under new management (again - they seem to switch every few months) so we'll see how the place goes from here. I've lived in both buildings, by the way. Anyway, I'm off to the store to use the bathroom. The end.
